It's like... a brand new year!

Hey everyone...

I trust that your holiday season was a success. Gifts purchased... gifts received... lots of food... relatives you haven't seen in a while.

The new year is upon us and we are about to embark on a new year with new things in store. We had a great family BBQ on Jan 1st in The Basement. Lots of families and friends showed up. We are planning to make this a monthly thing... First Sunday Family BBQ's. So the first Sunday of every month we will have a family event in The Basement. The next one is Superbowl Sunday! Let's plan on it.

The Student Auction is coming up on February 24th. That's a little earlier than year's past... so it's time to get going on gathering together your auction items. More to come in the next week or so.

It's also time to say goodbye to a couple of people. David Stark has been volunteering as a leader for the last year and a half. He is heading to Florida for an acting/modeling training school. He feels that God is calling him to this area and is stepping out in faith to see what God has for him. We have appreciated David's leadership with our guys while he has been with us.

My assistant, Mary Weeks, is also leaving for further training. She has felt the Lord calling her to spend time studying His word and will be in biblical training with the New Tribes organization. Mary has been an important part of our youth ministry team for many years. Her absence will be felt on many different levels. We wish her well and hope that she is able to use the next few months preparing for whatever God has planned for her life.

This may seem like a silly question, but can you not have bbq pits at your home? I can uerndstand about apartments but are they restricted completely, even in single family homes?
