Roots is a discipleship plan stemming out of the desire to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in helping to grow and mature believers in the Lord. Psalm 1 uses the illustration of a tree in order to paint a picture of spiritual strength, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” The first year will include the 5 classes listed on the back. These are classes that will be offered on Wednesday and Sunday evenings throughout the year and are specially designed to give each person, whether new or old in the faith, a foundation for growth. The following years, as we “branch out,” will consist of a combination of small groups, mentoring opportunities, and leadership development.
