• Camp

Is there anything that can instantly bring more excitement, energy, and exhaustion than the mention of Summer Camp? The time is now upon us as our registrations for this year's summer camps are here and the deadlines are fast approaching. If you're looking for something that will create more memories, fun, and spiritual depth in your children then it's time to get excited and sign up.

We have three options for you to choose from:

    Salem First Day Camp - High Seas Expedition: June 22 - 25 & 27

If you're looking for a local Day Camp then this is the one you want! It runs June 22nd - 25th with the Family Day on Sunday June 27th. Your kids will set sail for summer fun as they feel the sea spray on their faces and sails snap overhead. We'll be experiencing the deep, rolling waters of God's Love!

    Camp Kellogg -

         Kid's going into 2nd & 3rd Grade - July 15th - 17th

         Kid's going into 4th - 6th Grade - July 26th - 30th

Kellogg is our District Over Night Camp just south of Eugene and up in the mountains. A fantastic place for kids to have fun, create memories, and grow spiritually. There are some great things to do at camp such as an archery range, a zip line, pool, sling-shot shooting gallery, hiking trails and much more. Your kids will have their best week of summer at Kellogg and I encourage all of them to come along for the adventure. You can learn more, look at pictures, check out the facilities, and even look over the menu at their website KelloggSprings.com

     Camp Canyonview - Kids going into 2nd - 6th Grade - August 9th - 13th

Camp Canyonview is a Christian Day Camp that we attend in August. The Canyonview bus picks us all up each morning at 8:00 am and the fun begins as we pull out the parking lot singing camp songs. There are many things to do at Canyonview and you can learn all about it at their website: CanyonviewCamp.org

There are many more exciting events that are coming up this summer so keep watching the web, newsletters, and announcements for all the latest.

  • March and April series

So I've been planning, researching, and building for the last 3 weeks for one of the best series that we've ever done together! On March 7th, when you walk up the stairs to check-in you will enter the new world that we will be living in during this series! While I'm going to keep it a secret until the newsletter hits your mailbox I will give you a hint...

  • Beginning Construction

This is so exciting! There's not many other things that can distract a boy like a bunch of construction equipment, especially when it's all right out side in the parking lot. I'm loving driving into the parking lot this week to see all that's going on with the new Community Life Center. All the asphalt is now gone and they are going to be leveling off the ground to prepare for the new building. If all goes according to plan we'll have a brand new building this time next year! Remember to pray for all those who are working on this project from the dump truck drivers to the designers. They are the hands and feet making this a reality. Look for more updates here and head on over to the web cam for live video feed.

  • The Big Dig

    The Big Dig

Entire Family. Entire Bible. One Year

What could be more life changing than your entire family walking together through the Word of God? This is the idea behind the Big Dig. From the 1st graders to the seniors in high school we will all be walking with our families through the most important and world changing book on the planet. So get ready, because this is no simple walk through the park...

We know that you have a million things going on in life and you don’t really want another thing to toss in the daily schedule. We also know that nothing is more important than the spiritual development of your children. Because of both of these realities, you have three different reading plans to choose from. Each one will keep with the goal of getting through the entire Bible in one year, but with some latitude given for those really busy families. Here they are:

Gold Plan: 23 Chapters a week

    3 Chapters Monday - Friday

    5 Chapters on the Weekends

Silver Plan: 12 Chapters a Week

    2 Chapters Monday - Friday

    2 Chapters on the Weekends

Bronze Plan: 7 Chapters a week

    1 Chapter each day

So for the first week, if you are on the Bronze Plan you will be able to choose any seven chapters out of the first 23 chapters of Genesis to read with your family. The second week you’ll choose any seven chapters from the next 23 chapters in the Bible. The third week you’ll do the same but out of the next 23 chapters in the Bible. That way we will all be tracking along with the same section of Scripture and we will all finish at the exact same time.

I will be teaching every Wednesday night on a section from that weeks reading schedule. Each month you will be able to find what I’ll be teaching on Wednesday night via FirstKidsRock.com There you will be able to see the reading plans, chapters for the week and month and any heads up of sensitive material that you’ll want to use your best parenting skills with while reading.

  • The New Site

After much anticipation I would like to welcome everyone to the new website! When you get a chance, make sure you thank pastor Joshua, our middle school pastor, and Monica Pynch, our graphics designer for all the hard work that they put into making our new site look fantastic! You'll find several new and quite useful things here on the site that weren't integrated in the old one, such as the Construction Cam!

If you head over the the Front Page and click on the Construction Logo in the top right of the page you'll be taken to a live video feed of the new building being built. Feel free to check back as often as you'd like to see how things are going and for a great reminder to pray for the church and all the ministries that are currently taking place and those that will be started with the completion of the new building.

So take a peek around your new site and see all it has to offer. I think you'll be pleased with the look, function, and ease of use. Check back often because we will be unveiling a really great addition in the next few weeks.
