Note to you as a Parent,
I love movies! I really love movies that are about events or people of history. I recently watched the new movie “300”. Now let me say this, I do not recommend this movie, but there is something about witnessing an event that’s 2500 years past that excites me. There are so many times that we read about people in the Bible and completely forget that they were real people like you and I. In fact I often find myself not reading about these people because I already know their story, and yet I have completely missed their personal struggle and life because I have become so callous to all the “Bible Stories.”
This Wednesday we are going to take a fresh look at one of those well known people in Scripture and his complete commitment to God in the face of trials that we Americans can only experience through movies or books. When he was about 14, a vast army conquered his country and he was carried off to a foreign capitol as a hostage. His faith and commitment to God were tested and he was found to be “ten times better” than anyone else. This is the beginning of Daniel’s life, We find, once again, that it is all the little things that he did as a child that would make him a great figure in our faith.
